Skipping Stones begins 16th Year with
Dear Editor/Educator: New Years' Greetings! p>We are pleased to announce our current issue, Volume 16, no. 1, featuring student contributions on the themes A World of Women and African American heritage. We think you will find the issue especially appropriate for the upcoming Women's History Month and Black History Month.
As we enter our 16th year, no small feat for a noncommercial, nonprofit magazine on a very limited budget, we invite you to feature an article on Skipping Stones. Our award-winning global education magazine continues to publish writing and art on a wide variety of themes such as: Nurturing Nature, Living Abroad, Cross-cultural Communication, Traditional Societies, Cultural Awareness, Dreams and Visions of Today's Youth and Social Issues.
Looking Ahead: We invite students, ages 7 to 17, to enter the 2004 Youth Honor Awards (entries are due by 20 June 2004) on the themes of Multicultural and Social Issues, Personal Challenges and Nature Awareness.
Thank you for sharing Skipping Stones with your members and readers. Let me know if you wish to excerpt/reprint pieces from the enclosed issue.
With Best Wishes,
Skipping Stones has been honored with the NAME (National Association for Multicultural Education), Educational Press Association, Parent's Choice and Writer Awards.
